Whakamārama es una palabra maorí que signifca iluminar, explicar o aclarar, y ése es precisamente el objetvo de Whakamārama, un viaje interior y exterior que explora la cultura, la pertenencia, la identidad y aquello que las une. En un recorrido alrededor del mundo que atraviesa Nueva Zelanda, Hawai’i y Manhatan, aviones, autobuses y caminos nos conducen a extranjeros que han hecho de una isla su hogar. El tema: quiénes somos y qué nos ha llevado hasta dónde estamos. Y yo, ¿a qué le llamo hogar?
Whakamārama is a Māori word meaning to illuminate, explain or clarify, and that is precisely the aim of Whakamārama, an inner and outer journey that explores culture, belonging, identty and what unites them. On a journey around the world that crosses New Zealand, Hawai’i and Manhatan, planes, buses and roads lead us to foreigners who have made an island their home. The theme: who we are and what has brought us to where we are. And me, what do I call home?
